I started my first day in the NICU on a ventilator with 65% oxygen support. I ended my first day with only 25% oxygen support which is only 4% more than adults use. I got to meet my Mom and my Dad for the first time. The Dr's gave me surfactant for my lungs to help me breath and antibiotics just in case I had an infection. They did blood cultures and labs to make sure i was doing well.
